Ryan Tan is an active game changer, and is hailed as one of the local dance veterans who revitalised the dance scene in Singapore. A visionary in the
Singapore dance scene, Ryan has been involved in the field for over 20 years as a director, producer, choreographer and dance educator. With a firm belief in self-improvement and upgrading, Ryan recently acquired his Masters in Dance Producing and Management, with distinction, from Middlesex University
London. He currently holds the positions of Show Director in an upcoming theme park in China; and Creative Producer in a London-China joint project titled “Butterfly Lovers”.

In 2011, he founded The Royal Dance Off (TRDO), and spearheaded numerous programmes and shows all set to brand contemporary dance as relevant and inviting to a variety of audiences. His mark as an artistic director is clearly recognised yet ever-evolving. Ryan is thus credited as the anchor governing and flourishing the vision of TRDOco. In recent years, Ryan’s contributions have led him to be widely praised as a ground-breaking show creator and director. Highly respected for communicating strong messages through his effortless presentations of visual spectacles, he defines the artistry of live dance shows with an air of professionalism and congeniality that makes Contemporary Dance inviting to various audiences. As a choreographer, Ryan has been engaged to direct and choreograph for government commissioned events. Ryan has also been invited for three consecutive years to choreograph for the prestigious ‘So You Think You Can Dance – Vietnam’ (2013, 2014, 2015). His eye for talent and dance quality landed him as a Resident Judge on the Mediacorp’s reality dance show – “The Dance Floor Season 2” in 2016.

Even with Ryan’s international achievements and professional works, he remains adamant about doing his part to impart as a dance educator. Hence, he constantly devotes time to sharing and teaching in a bid to bring up the next generation of dancers.
