🇸🇪 𝐁𝐞𝐡𝐢𝐧𝐝 𝐭𝐡𝐞 𝐂𝐮𝐫𝐭𝐚𝐢𝐧𝐬: 𝐀 𝐂𝐨𝐦𝐩𝐫𝐞𝐡𝐞𝐧𝐬𝐢𝐯𝐞 𝐒𝐭𝐮𝐝𝐲 𝐨𝐧 𝐭𝐡𝐞 𝐄𝐬𝐭𝐚𝐛𝐥𝐢𝐬𝐡𝐦𝐞𝐧𝐭, 𝐅𝐮𝐧𝐝𝐢𝐧𝐠, 𝐚𝐧𝐝 𝐒𝐨𝐜𝐢𝐞𝐭𝐚𝐥 𝐈𝐦𝐩𝐚𝐜𝐭 𝐨𝐟 𝐃𝐚𝐧𝐜𝐞 𝐂𝐨𝐦𝐩𝐚𝐧𝐢𝐞𝐬 𝐢𝐧 𝐍𝐨𝐫𝐝𝐢𝐜 𝐂𝐨𝐮𝐧𝐭𝐫𝐢𝐞𝐬 The second leg of our trip brought us to Sweden, where we visited the 𝐑𝐨𝐲𝐚𝐥 𝐒𝐰𝐞𝐝𝐢𝐬𝐡 𝐁𝐚𝐥𝐥𝐞𝐭, located within the historic 𝐑𝐨𝐲𝐚𝐥 𝐒𝐰𝐞𝐝𝐢𝐬𝐡 𝐎𝐩𝐞𝐫𝐚 in Stockholm, and the 𝐑𝐨𝐲𝐚𝐥 𝐒𝐰𝐞𝐝𝐢𝐬𝐡 𝐁𝐚𝐥𝐥𝐞𝐭 𝐒𝐜𝐡𝐨𝐨𝐥, housed in its own dedicated building. The @kungligaoperan founded in 1773 by King Gustav III, has been Sweden’s national theatre for opera and ballet for over two centuries. The current Opera House, inaugurated in 1898, is an architectural gem blending neo-Renaissance and neo-Baroque styles, with its stunning Golden Foyer (Guldfoajén), a two-ton chandelier, and an exquisite ceiling painting. The @royalswedishballet also founded in 1773, is one of the oldest ballet companies in the world. Its legacy spans centuries of exceptional performances. The @royalswedishballetschool is located in the historic Münchenbryggeriet building, which was once a working brewery until 1971. In 1974, the city of Stockholm repurposed the space for the school, which now boasts 11 dance studios, 8 theory halls, and a dedicated theatre, Riddarfjärdsteatern, with seating for 260. 🇩🇰 𝐁𝐞𝐡𝐢𝐧𝐝 𝐭𝐡𝐞 𝐂𝐮𝐫𝐭𝐚𝐢𝐧𝐬: 𝐀 𝐂𝐨𝐦𝐩𝐫𝐞𝐡𝐞𝐧𝐬𝐢𝐯𝐞 𝐒𝐭𝐮𝐝𝐲 𝐨𝐧 𝐭𝐡𝐞 𝐄𝐬𝐭𝐚𝐛𝐥𝐢𝐬𝐡𝐦𝐞𝐧𝐭, 𝐅𝐮𝐧𝐝𝐢𝐧𝐠, 𝐚𝐧𝐝 𝐒𝐨𝐜𝐢𝐞𝐭𝐚𝐥 𝐈𝐦𝐩𝐚𝐜𝐭 𝐨𝐟 𝐃𝐚𝐧𝐜𝐞 𝐂𝐨𝐦𝐩𝐚𝐧𝐢𝐞𝐬 𝐢𝐧 𝐍𝐨𝐫𝐝𝐢𝐜 𝐂𝐨𝐮𝐧𝐭𝐫𝐢𝐞𝐬 In April, Ballet.id had the incredible opportunity to embark on a comprehensive study in the Nordic countries, supported by @nordiskkulturfond This program, allowed us to spend one week in the enchanting city of Copenhagen, Denmark, and another week immersed in the cultural vibrancy of Stockholm, Sweden. In Copenhagen, we partnered with the renowned Tivoli Ballet Theatre, housed within the iconic Tivoli Gardens - a historic amusement park that Established in 1843 by Georg Carstensen. The heart of Tivoli’s artistic heritage lies in its 𝐏𝐚𝐧𝐭𝐨𝐦𝐢𝐦𝐞 𝐓𝐡𝐞𝐚𝐭𝐞𝐫, a stunning building from 1874, where pantomimes have been performed since Tivoli’s early days. Ballet became part of this repertoire in 1911, and in 2012, Tivoli Ballet Theatre and Tivoli Ballet School were founded, showcasing Tivoli’s commitment to nurturing classical dance talent. What makes Tivoli Ballet Theatre truly unique is their daily performances, held twice a day, featuring 30-minute repertoires. These include pieces from pantomime, classical ballet, fairy tale ballet, and modern works. Best of all, these performances are free for all Tivoli Gardens visitors! This dedication not only preserves the tradition of pantomime but also drives innovation, ensuring every season brings something fresh and captivating for the audience.
